I strive to capture what I perceive to be essential - shape, color, texture. All my senses participate in the exercise, yet the visual is the means to communicate what I feel.
My daughter’s interest in botany became my invitation to consider flora more carefully. In truth, until she opened my eyes, I took the botanical world around me for granted. Now, the shape, color, texture, symmetry, and balance of that realm convey deep meaning and feeling to me. My hope is that what I present not only pleases and comforts the viewer but also inspires reflection and curiosity.
